The two UAB CIS teams Drakes (Jeff Frees, Eric Frees and Patrick Butler) and Hydras (Yu Chang, Dan Mondy and Robert Cloud) were placed 1st and 2nd in the AL/MS subregional of the ACM Southeastern Programming Contest. The two teams finished 16th and 18th among the 78 teams that participated in the southeastern regional competition.
